Los Angeles-based drummer Dhruv Mittal specializes in Fusion and Experimental drumming styles. Originally from Kanpur, India, Dhruv moved to the US in late 2021 to pursue his Associate's degree in Drum Performance at Musicians Institute (MI), Hollywood. A recipient of the Chuck Silverman Memorial Drum Scholarship (2021) and the Greg Priest Memorial Drum Scholarship (2022), and following his graduation in September 2023, he now works as faculty at MI. He has played with a number of international and local artists including Michael Sims (Dr. Dre, N.W.A), Rahul Sharma, Ojas Adhiya, Natasha Vora, and Atharva Phadke, and is in the process of writing the debut EP with his new project (TBD). He also does a bunch of session work in the Los Angeles music scene.

Dhruv holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the very prestigious IIT Kanpur. A brilliant and academic individual, he graduated top of his class from IITK in 2020 with a grade point average of 9.5/10. His research work has also been published in the esteemed peer-reviewed journal, JMRT. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, he took to composing and putting up tracks with other musicians across India on Instagram extensively. This was very well received, slowly developing into an online following and even attracting the attention of renowned Canadian cymbal manufacturer Sabian. Dhruv’s journey can be classified as pretty avant-garde by Indian standards, excelling at what he does and taking a path not many do.
